Super Bulky Art Yarn Cowl Knitting Pattern

This pattern is very simple and uses about two skeins of super bulky rainbow handspun yarn using the Stockinette stitch. You can knit on straight or circular needles. I used straights and joined the ends using a kitchener stitch.

Materials:

  • 2 skeins super bulky yarn (about 150-200 yards). Shown using 222 Handspun super bulky corespun thread plied art yarn.

  • US 15 (10.00mm) needles

  • Tapestry needle or crochet hook (optional)

Gauge: 6 stitches / 4"

Cast on 50 stitches.

Alternate a knit row with a purl row (Stockinette stitch) until it is about 16 inches long. You can make it a few inches longer if you want to wear it as a hood.

Bind off.

If using straight needles, join the ends using a kitchener stitch.

Weave in ends with tapestry needle.

Finished dimensions laying flat are about 18 x 16 inches

Blocking is optional.

Enjoy your snugly new cowl!
